I've been to Abala mainly to have dessert twice. I ordered the Sticky Date Cake and it was absolutely amazing, I would totally recommend it.

For drinks I had a Shirley Temple and She Said Red. Amazing, would recommend it also.

I have not tried their main meals or starters, but I would like to the next time I visit.

I also ordered their Red Velvet cupcake, it' was horrible, probably the worst cupcake I've tried, it was dry and it wasn't even chocolate flavoured, nor vanilla really, it was basically just sugar.

Abala has an amazing ambiance and atmosphere, the decoration is very detailed and unique.

Overall, I had a great time in Abala and would go again, I thought the pricing was slightly on the expensive side, however i was fully worth it.

Abala is an all Omani (Not a franchise) café with great setting and good food. I especially like the Omani touch of the pictures with the taxi and L? cars on the wall (they had chips Oman and mountain dew before the recent change).
Place
The place is very hip with a modern design and is not ruined with loud music like so many places like can be. The owner has gone to great lengths with the details in the café and as soon as you enter you’re wowed by the place. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Food
While the food and drinks are on the expensive side, it's almost to be expected now from cafes of this calibre.
Personally I've tried the sea food risotto and the Veal Cordon Bleu; both magnificent. The dips they have are bold and fill your pellet with storm of tastes. You really need to order the right thing for you. People who are used to Kabsa and Qabooli will find it hard to accept this kind of cuisine. I’m the type who’d try anything once and I’ve discovered a lot of great eateries in Muscat.
Overall
I would recommend you give Abala Café one more try I’m sure you wont regret it.

Abala is a continental restaurant in Bareeq Al Shatti - TRUE! It is an exclusive continental restaurant.
Abala is all glitz and glamour. Everything from the tiles on the floor, the chairs and all the way to the cutlery napkins are super stylish. - TRUE!!!! It is a glamorous restaurant/café.
The menu at Abala is very extensive and serves everything from soups, salads, and nachos, to burgers, risottos, steaks, and pastas. – TRUE, Where everyone from any corner of Oman in spite of their nationality, age and complexion.
Shrimps wrapped in Turkey bacon - True...the dip is amazing...that's their specialty, it is only 4 pieces - False! That is why they call it a starter. I would suggest that you all need to try the honey fried Calamari next time.
For the main course I had a club sandwich (3.5) which came with chips - I believe it's fully worth, Abala French fries is my daughters favorite and I am a regular customer of Abala and i disagree with this. Their food is always fresh. Club sandwich is supposed to be a dry sandwich and looking at the picture you've taken, I don’t think it was burnt.
Risotto - Again is mouth watering and I’m sure sun dried tomatoes would've been a good option; I would like to try the same next time i visit.
We really liked both of our drinks and thought that there were the highlights of the visit - TRUE! Janice is the only person who knows the secret recipe of the juices and Alfi on Coffees.
The service at Abala was really good, everyone seemed friendly and our food came really fast. Not sure if it is always like that - 90% of the time :-) it is fast.
In total, we ordered 1 starter, 2 main courses, 2 mocktails; our bill came to RO 16. - FAIR DEAL!!!!!
We did not like the food at Abala, I did not think that the starter was special at all and I really didn’t like my main course. I cannot really recommend this place. Has anybody else been here? What do you guys think? After visiting once you cannot come to a conclusion as such. Starter/ Club Sandwich - wouldn't have been your favorite but it is of many others who visit Abala.
I suggest you to visit Abala for once more, when you’re in a good mood and you will know the difference.
I suggest all of you who read this should visit Abala to know the truth :-)
